BON VOYAGE
I was working as a travel agent when I made this jacket which I wore on
several cruise ship inaugurals. I love the quilting waves that enhance
the side panels. This duster length vest was made of silk taffeta and
iridescent organza. The back panel is appliquéd and free motion
stitched with metallic threads and embellished with novelty buttons.
The piecing on the front is done with a delicate French seaming
technique that I learned from Chunghie Lee. The technique is inspired
by Pojagi, a traditional Korean wrapping cloth. |
