FIBER
BUBBLES JACKET
This jacket got
me published for the very first time in Quick & Easy Weekend
Quilting with Sulky. As I worked on an original idea that
would make me a “published” artist, I remembered a blouse I made in
high school using elastic thread in the bobbin. It was that memory
that inspired Fiber Bubbles. Fiber Bubbles are iridescent organzas
layered on a background fabric using a water soluble stabilizer on
top and elastic thread in the bobbin. The quilting is a result of
using both 30 wt. Blendables and Holoshimmer threaded together
through the needle. Hong Kong finished seams completely cover any
raw edges. This is a labor of love with untold hours that went in
the perfect construction of the jacket. |
