SCRAPPY JACKET

When the embellishing, felting machines were first introduced I just knew I had to own one.  After all, I didn’t have a sewing machine in my collection that didn’t use thread!  This is the first project I made on my new machine.  Gorgeous brocades, velvets and sheers were felted into an organza background.  I re-felted the entire three yards of fabric to a piece of navy silk organza.  This covered up the unsightly pieces of felted fabric and maintained the sheerness.  I then stitched a variety of decorative stitches to firmly hold all of the fabrics in place.  Solid colored velvet sleeves and lapels refined the scrappy look of the felted jacket.
